“REFORM Alliance”

REFORM Alliance aims to transform probation and parole by changing laws, systems and culture to create real pathways to work and wellbeing.

Artist Meek Mill embodies a journey of tenacity and resilience. He built his name in the city by grinding in the streets of Philadelphia freestyling with his patnas.

In 2007, Meek Mill's trajectory took a turn when he faced conviction on charges of drug and gun possession. This arrest was later exposed as a result of an arrest by a corrupt law enforcement officer. When he was released he was stuck in the cycle of probation hearings and repeated encounters with the system. In 2011, Meek Mill signed with Rick Ross and blew up in the industry. Dreams and Nightmares dropped in 2012 and is still the Philly anthem.

2017 cast a shadow on Meek Mill's journey when he was arrested for “recklessly” riding a dirt bike, an incident that led to a 2-4 year sentence. This sparked the global #FreeMeek movement, igniting a wave of international support. Through this movement, he was granted bail and eventually had his charges dismissed.

On January 23, 2019, Meek Mill, along with notable figures including Jay-Z, Robert Kraft, Michael Rubin, Clara Wu, and Daniel Loeb, founded the REFORM Alliance. On a mission to bring substantial changes to the criminal justice system and its approach to probation and parole.

While Meek had the resources and the platform to help get him out there are millions of other cases that are just swept under the rug. Shout out to them for bringing more awareness to this issue.

HELLA INSPIRED.
