"Preston Mutanga"

Preston Mutanga, a 14-year-old from Toronto, was Inspired by the “Across the Spider-Verse” trailer so he decided to recreate the entire trailer shot for shot using LEGO blocks and CGI. When he posted his version on Twitter he went viral. His work caught the eye of producers Phil Lord and Chris Miller who were hella impressed.

When the movie required a scene set in the LEGO universe, Preston’s expertise made him the clear choice. Collaborating with the film’s team, he spent weeks animating a LEGO sequence that seamlessly integrated into the movie. This dedication paid off when “Across the Spider-Verse” premiered on May 30, 2023, and Preston’s work was not only included but credited at the end of the film.

Preston's achievement highlights his incredible potential and creative skills, especially considering he's a high school student.
