Pinky Cole describes Slutty Vegan as “a marketing business that also happens to sell food."
Aisha "Pinky" Cole was born on December 8th, 1987, in Baltimore, MD. She pursued higher education and earned her bachelor's degree from Clark Atlanta University.
In July 2018, Pinky had an idea to start selling vegan burgers from her 2 bedroom apartment fresh to order via Instagram. In a few weeks she was popping all over the city of Atlanta in her mobile food truck. Rather than relying on traditional marketing methods, Pinky chose to showcase people's genuine reactions to her burgers. Through videos capturing customers' first encounters she did numbers on social media.
The immense popularity and positive reception encouraged Pinky to take her venture to the next level. In October 2018, the first Slutty Vegan restaurant location was established. The name garnered attention and got the curiosity of potential customers. A crowd of 1,200 people gathered outside for the grand opening, eager to get "sluttified" in the 45-degree weather.
Pinky Cole's philosophy extended beyond serving food; she believed in creating an unforgettable experience for her customers. By serving healthy junk food she epitomized her approach, proving that vegan cuisine could be cool, challenging the conventional notions surrounding plant-based diets.
By embracing non-traditional marketing strategies and fostering an engaging online presence, Pinky achieved tremendous success. Slutty Vegan evolved from a local sensation to a cultural phenomenon, attracting people from diverse backgrounds and culinary preferences.
Slutty Vegan has 10+ locations and is valued at over $100 million.
