“Eastside Golf”

Olajuwon Ajanaku and Earl Cooper first met as teammates on the Morehouse golf team, winning a national championship together. After college, Olajuwon pursued a career in finance for around 9 years, on the verge of becoming a VP at a San Diego finance firm. He felt trapped in the rat race and decided to reconnect with his true passion.

It all started with a logo that Olajuwon created, reflecting his personal style with jeans, a sweatshirt, and a swinging gold cuban link chain. Encouraged by Earl, Olajuwon found a tee and ironed the logo on it. He wore it around downtown Detroit where the shirt caught everyone's attention. It gave him that fresh haircut feeling. People were asking questions like, "What's that logo?", and "Where can I get it?" The response was overwhelming, and from there they expanded the idea into a full-fledged brand called Eastside Golf, founded on June 1st, 2019.

Everything took off when Chris Paul's team reached out and ordered two of each item from the Eastside Golf website. Chris Paul wearing their brand brought significant attention, leading to an opportunity with the legendary Jordan Brand and an introduction to Michael Jordan himself. This collaboration resulted in the first-ever Air Jordan Golf Shoe in partnership with Eastside Golf.

Eastside Golf's mission is beyond fashion; it is a lifestyle golf brand aimed at raising awareness about golf among youth and non-golfers. They recognize the sport's dominance by white males and the presence of economic barriers. Eastside Golf is going to bridge the gap and bring black players into the game by embracing authenticity and representation.

HELLA INSPIRED.
