“COACH PRIME”

Deion Sanders was born on August 9th, 1967, in Fort Myers, Florida. By the time he reached high school, he had already achieved all-state status in football, baseball, and basketball.

One night after dropping 37 points in a basketball game one of his homies gave him the name “PRIMETIME”. One of the greatest NFL players of all time got his nickname from hooping lol. Deion chose to attend Florida State University, where he continued to dominate both the football and baseball fields.

Deion Sanders went on to play 14 seasons in the NFL, playing for five different teams from 1989 to 2005. His legacy includes two Super Bowl wins and a reputation that made opposing coaches and quarterbacks think twice about throwing in his direction. His impact extended beyond the NFL, as he also spent nine seasons in MLB from 1989 to 2001.

He is the only athlete to have participated in both the Super Bowl and the World Series. He was rightfully inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2011.

In 2020, Deion Sanders took on a new role as the head coach of HBCU Jackson State University. Over the course of three years, he had an 26-5 record, securing two SWAC titles for the team. Sanders donated half of his coaching salary to fund renovations for the school's football stadium, demonstrating his commitment to the program and its development.

During his time at Jackson State, Sanders not only elevated the football program but also brought exposure to the university and HBCUs in general, emphasizing their importance in the world of college sports.

In December 2022, Deion Sanders started a new coaching journey by signing a 5-year, $29.5 million contract to become the head coach of the University of Colorado. Despite facing criticism, his impact was felt immediately as Colorado achieved a upset in their first game against a team that had been in the championship the previous season, winning 45-42.

What can they say now?

HELLA INSPIRED.
